Special Face Masks for Your Skin

Face masks are an under-appreciated addition to skincare routines, either consigned to the retro, peel-off variety of teenage sleepovers or else saved for those once-a-year evenings where you actually have time for a bath and some ‘pamper time’. But, used once or twice a week, a good clay mask can go a long way to draw out impurities, brighten dull, tired skin and, in the long term, help prevent breakouts.

Face-Masks

Everyone has different skin types and different issues that come with it. We all want perfect skin but sometimes our skin just doesn’t do what we want it to! This is why we teamed up with the Glam & Gowns vlog to bring you two face masks to help combat this. One mask is for oily skin, dry skin and combination skin.

First, make sure you know what kind of skin you have. Do you have dry patches? Are some parts of your skin wrinkly, red, dull, and rough? If so, you have dry skin. Are you prone to breakouts? Is your skin shiny with large pores? You most likely have oily skin. Now that you have figured that out, try out the face mask that fits with your skin type.

Oily Skin

Oily skin happens when your sebaceous glands produce too much sebum. Sebaceous glands are just underneath the skin’s surface and Sebum is an oily substance made of fats. Sebum is actually good for you because it helps to protect and moisturize your skin and keep your hair shiny and healthy. But too much of it will lead to oily skin which in turn can lead to clogged pores and acne. Your own genetics, changes in your hormones or even too much stress can increase sebum production.

“Honey is one of nature’s most revered skin remedies. Thanks to its antibacterial and antiseptic abilities, it may benefit oily and acne-prone skin. Honey is also a natural humectant, so it helps keep the skin moist but not oily. This is because humectants draw moisture from the skin without replacing it.The acid in lemons and other citrus fruits may help absorb oil and according to a study, lemons have antibacterial abilities.” -healthline.com

Dry Skin

Dry normally is not a serious condition but it can be uncomfortable if you have it! Most dry skin is caused by environmental factors such as hot or cold weather, low humidity, and soaking in hot water. To improve your skin you should avoid harsh, drying soaps. and make sure to moisturize often. Also, use the dry skin mask bellow!

Combination Skin

Combination skin means having both dry skin and oily skin on different regions of your face. In most cases, the T-zone of your face, which is your nose, forehead and chin, is oily and shiny. Your cheeks and other parts of the face may be the dry areas and may even have acne and large pores. With combination skin, it may be hard to choose beauty products that your facial skin is compatible with, being both oily and dry. Choose natural ingredients to care for this skin type which may even resolve combination skin issues and restore skin back to its original luster.

Combination Skin Mask
